Our College

Ofsted

In June 2023 the school was inspected by Ofsted and we were very pleased that the report highlighted what a good school we are. Inspectors recognised that lessons and corridors are calm and orderly, and that our students are polite and courteous. They praised our effective safeguarding procedures and noted that the school supports the mental and emotional health of our students effectively.

The report also comments positively on our ambitious curriculum, increasingly high expectations and the academic support provided for all students, including those with SEND.

We take great pride in our academic success. However, a good education is not just about good examination results. It’s about a ‘rounded’ education that enables students to be intelligent, free-thinking individuals who will be articulate and knowledgeable participants in our democratic society. For this reason we were delighted to see that inspectors noted that the curriculum for personal development is broad, detailed and age appropriate and reported that our students appreciate the wide variety of extra-curricular opportunities on offer.

In conclusion, students, parents, governors, staff and the wider community can be rightly proud of the outcome of the inspection and we look forward to showing the next inspectors that we have made even more improvement whenever they return.
